Bulk PC disposal service for UK Companies We have setup a dedicated recycling site www.computer-recyclers.co.uk. If you work for a large company, please ask the person responsible for IT disposals to take a look. (If we subsequently handle a large disposal we'll either pay you a finders fee or, if you prefer, make a generous donation to a charity of your choosing) Collection from anywhere within the UK - We prefer equipment to be palletised & shrink wrapped. Twice weekly collections around the M25 area, up to 16 pallets per load. Removal of all ID stickers & Tags. All hard drives are wiped clean with multiple pass (x3) blanking software. Conforms to US Department of Defense clearing and sanitizing standard DoD 5220.22-M. You can download the free version of Killdisk here, for evaluation purposes. Any drives found to be faulty are degaussed & then physically destroyed. Audit of serial numbers & asset numbers if required. Where possible goods will be resold, older equipment will be stripped for parts. We comply with all WEEE directives regarding disposal of electrical waste. How much does it cost? Example 1 - You have 100x P4 with 1.4GHz/256MB/20GB/CD base units, we will collect anywhere in the UK free of charge - no cost to you. Example 2 - You have 100x P4 with 2.8GHz/512MB/40GB/DVD - We pay around £x0+VAT each , collect free & wipe all data. Example 3 - You have 100x P3 Laptops with 800mhz/256mb/20gb/dvd - all in mint condition, We pay around £x0+VAT each , collect free & wipe all data. Example 4 - You have upgraded your 15" TFT screens to 17" models - you want to dispose of 100x 15" used TFTs - all in mint condition, We pay around £x0+VAT each & collect free. We are primarily seeking resaleable equipment: we'll only remove CRT monitors & Pentium 1/2/3 base units when the vast majority of the other equipment is like that described above. I have a single PC to dispose of , can you help? Firstly, you could completely wipe your hard drive yourself with Killdisk. (Formatting or Fdisk'ing the drive is not enough: Killdisk will completely zero the drive.) This simple measure could stop you becoming a victim of identity theft. You can read an enlightening BBC documentary report on the subject here. PCs deposited at your local tip, can - and frequently do - end up on other continents! If you have a PC or Laptop which you no longer need, and you can deliver it to our workshop (WA14 3RN), we would be happy to accept it, as long as it was manufactured in the last 4 years. The drive will be wiped before resale. We no longer accept individual PCs with Pentium 1,2 or 3 processors (although we can wipe the drives for you). Also, we no longer accept CRT monitors. If you have a Laptop which is surplus to requirements, we will collect it free from anywhere in the UK. We will collect recent faulty and older working laptops, we just ask that you box it up well. If you prefer you can post the laptop to us yourself at : TRComputers, PO Box 44 , Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 6RQ - and we'll refund your postage costs. If the laptop is a recent working model we'll even send you something for it.
